Pappy Van Winkle Charity Auction Results for 2017 - 2018 Mon, Aug 29, 22 Pappy Van Winkle Charity Auction Results for 2017 – 2018 We would like to congratulate our Charity Bourbon Auction recipients for 2017 and 2018. It gets harder every year to decide which charity to participate in our auctions. Thank all of you who made it out to each auction and placed your bids. Your generous donations went to some really great causes! None of this would be possible without you. We believe we had a really successful set of auctions with some really awesome charities and would like to share a little bit about each one. Bashor Children’s Home was chosen for our first Pappy Van Winkle Charity auction of the set and took place at our 667 County Road 17 location in Elkhart. This group is a faith based organization committed to fostering children who were abused or abandoned by their families. Bashor Children’s Home recently added a new wing to their facility strictly devoted to the care of children rescued from human trafficking. We were told that the funds raised at our charity will go towards this new department. With the funds raised with the sale of our Pappy Van Winkle 25 year bottle, we were able to raise an additional $2,500 for a grand total of $18,600 We chose Homebound Meals of Fort Wayne as our second charity that took place at our Dupont location in Fort Wayne. Home bound Meals’ mission is to deliver hot, therapeutic meals to senior citizens and home bound residents in our community. They are 100% volunteer based and depend on donations from the public to keep in operation. This event raised the second highest amount in Belmont/Chalet history using our bourbon auction but it was the highest fund raiser accepted by Homebound Meals. We were also able to raise $2,500 additionally with the auction of our Pappy Van Winkle 25 year bottle; giving them a total of $29,100. For our final charity bourbon auction for 2017/2018, we chose A Rosie Place for Children out of South Bend as a charity recipient. This event took place at our Cleveland Road location in South Bend. This group provides a haven for children who are medically fragile while providing family members periods of relief from the demands of 24 hour care. The event itself was able to raise $17,500. With the auction of our Pappy Van Winkle 25 year bottle, we were able to raise an aditional $2,500; giving A Rosie Place for Children a grand total of $20,000.
